Gang busted after million-dollar Bel Air heist

By Oluatoyin Alleyne and Abigail Semple Bandits yesterday attacked and robbed the family of businessman Malcolm Panday in a Bel Air Gardens home invasion, but they were later nabbed by police after a chase through the streets of George-town and the exchange of gunfire.

St Barnabas Church sold

The St. Barnabas Church has been sold. The 127-year-old structure has been bought by business magnate Afro Alphonso, proprietor of Pomeroon Oil Mill Incorporated.

ANSA McAL duo stole over $3M in beverages

Two employees of the New Amsterdam Branch of  ANSA McAL  who allegedly stole beverages totalling $3,223,252 in value were placed on $250,000 bail  each yesterday at the New Amsterdam Court after they denied a charge of larceny by clerk or servant.

Man stole $1M from Club Latino

A 22- year-old man who allegedly stole $1M from a popular nightclub was granted $200,000 bail after making an appearance before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

French army confers medals on Best, Lovell

The French armed forces has conferred the Gold Medal of National Defence and the Silver Medal of National Defence on Army Chief of Staff Commodore Gary Best and Colonel General Staff Bruce Lovell, respectively.
