Pomeroon communities for new water wells

Residents of Wakapoa and Akawini (Baracaro) in the Lower Pomeroon and Karawab and Kabakaburi in the Upper Pomeroon will receive first-time access to potable water with the drilling of new wells.

A miner had to be air-dashed to a city hospital after sustaining critical injuries when an attempt was made to murder him Ryan Williams, a 22-year-old miner of Byderabo Village, Essequibo River, was airlifted to Georgetown with life-threatening injuries by the Guyana Defence Force, after three suspects attempted to murder him during an argument on Thursday at about 4 pm.

Bounty Hall housewife gets four years over cocaine

After being busted with a total of 451 grammes of cocaine at her Essequibo home on Thursday, the accused, Brenda Charles was yesterday brought before the courts to answer to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, and was sentenced to four years behind bars after pleading guilty.

Prison Service gets 13 new recruits

The Guyana Prison Service (GPS) can now add 13 new recruits to its roster after they completed a four-month Basic Recruit Training Course (BRTC) at the Prison Training Centre at Timehri.
