DfID starts 5M pounds trust fund for Cariforum states

The UK Department for International Development (DfID) has established a Trust Fund for 5 million pounds at the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to assist Caricom and Cariforum states to boost growth and reduce poverty through trade and regional integration.

Blood bank eyes 8,000 units target

The National Blood Transfusion Service has set its target for this year at 8,000 units of blood, which is 1,000 more than the level set and attained last year, as 70% of the units collected by the department came voluntarily from the public.

Excise tax on gasoline, diesel cut

With effect from Monday the government lowered the excise tax on gasoline from 50 to 30 percent while the tax on diesel was lowered from 40 to 30 percent, and there is still no tax on kerosene.
