Booklet on local cannon launched during Heritage Week

As part of Heritage Week activities the National Trust last Wednesday launched Cannons of Guyana documenting a part of the country’s military heritage and building on the work of Major Michael Hartland of the Barbados Defence Force and University of Guyana student Joanne Collins.

TravelSpan announces raffle winners

Two persons were arrested following the discovery of an illegal firearm, ammunition and firearm silencers in a house at Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara yesterday.

Head of the Catholic Diocese of Guyana Bishop Francis Alleyne has announced the formation of a fund-raising committee for the building of the new Sacred Heart Church and the development of the site at Main Street, Georgetown, the Catholic Standard reported.
