GDF $2.1b wharf contract improperly awarded to Kares

-matter referred to Auditor General Following a complaint by Correia & Correia Ltd, the procurement commission has found that a $2.1b GDF wharf contract was incorrectly awarded to Kares Engineering Inc and the matter has now been referred to the Office of the Auditor General.

A-Line pump station contract terminated – Mustapha

-to be retendered The contract for the A-Line Pump Station between Versailles and Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara which was awarded to Civcon Engineering Contractors has since been terminated and will soon be retendered.

NDIA gearing up to rehabilitate sluices nationwide

Man gets time served over cannabis cultivation

The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said that on Friday, Winston Thompson appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court, where he was found guilty of the offences of possession of a narcotic to wit 298 grams of cannabis and the cultivation of 5000 seedlings.

Charged with obstructing CANU officer

On Friday, Mark Anthony Thomas appeared before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court where he pled not guilty to  the offences of possession of a narcotic to wit 4.5 grams of cannabis and the obstruction of a CANU officer during the execution of his duties.

Teachers to return to work by Tuesday

-as GTU, ministry agree terms of resumption By Abigail Headley Striking teachers are set to return to their classrooms by next Tuesday after the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Guyana Teachers’ Union (GTU) reached an agreement yesterday on terms of resumption to end a gruelling strike and talks will continue on June 26 on  a multi-year agreement.
