Sanctions loom for organisers of the recently concluded Futsal Finals as an investigation is underway by the National COVID-19 Task Force (NCTF) to determine the factors that led to the breach of COVID-19 protocols, Prime Minister   Mark Phillips yesterday said.

Five persons have  been arrested for beating a Black Bush Polder, Corentyne man on Sunday which resulted in him being hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.

NA Fire Service saves building from major destruction

A quick response from the New Amsterdam Fire Service last evening saved a multi- million dollar building which houses ANSA McAl and Bhivar in New Amsterdam from going up in flames A sudden fire had started in the upper flat of the building where Bhivar is located.

Three held over Puruni jewellery robbery

A Brazilian national was on Sunday robbed of a quantity of gold jewellery and cash along the Puruni trail in Region Seven and the police have since arrested three suspects, who they said confessed to the crime.
