KN agrees to pay outstanding damages award to Brassington

Following various efforts by former Executive Director of NICIL, Winston Brassington to garnish the almost $40 million in damages he has won in judgments against the Kaieteur News (KN), the newspaper has finally agreed to voluntarily pay off the outstanding balance of some $18 million.

Fort Nassau cannabis farms destroyed

A total of four farms with approximately one hundred and twenty thousand cannabis sativa plants ranging from one foot to six feet in height, were discovered along with one camp and drying area yesterday at Fort Nassau on the Berbice River, the police say.

Cops lay out Christmas security plan

Aimed at reassuring citizens and overseas visitors that it’s safe to go about their activities during the upcoming holiday season, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday unveiled its Christmas policing plan which will see Georgetown being divided into fifteen sectors with day and night patrols.
