$780 million contract signed for restoration of City Hall

After decades of prevarication and neglect, restoration works on the iconic City Hall structure in Georgetown will finally get underway with the signing of a $780 million contract The ceremony was held in the compound of City Hall and saw Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Nigel Dharamlall along with the Minister within the ministry, Anand Persaud, signing the contract for the restorative works.

CH&PA signs $867M in contracts for works at La Parfaite Harmonie

The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) yesterday signed contracts amounting to $867 million with six local contractors to conduct works at La Parfaite Harmonie, Region Three.

MoU signed for call centre in Linden

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was yesterday signed between the Guyana Office for Investment (G-Invest) and Midas Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Inc for a call centre in Linden that could see the creation of 250 jobs.

Addressing the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, President Irfaan Ali yesterday urged that the movement of people not be curtailed based on the COVID-19 vaccines they took and he also upped the pressure on Venezuela over the border controversy between the two countries.
