23 women graduate as seamstresses through WIIN programme

As part of government’s initiative to offer life skills to every citizen, 23 women, 18 of whom are unemployed, have been successfully trained in garment construction through the Women Innovation and Investment Network (WIIN) from Sophia, Region Four, and are the second batch of trained seamstresses who will now become entrepreneurs.

Group of 20 must honour commitment to arrest global warming

–Caricom environment ministers Caricom continues to express deep concern about the impact of climate change and its negative effects on the livelihoods of current and future generations and as such called on the Group of 20, responsible for 80 percent of global emissions, to honour commitments made to arrest global warming.

Oko gold mine royalty will average 6.5%

-company aiming for 350,000 ounces per year by 2028 G Mining Ventures (GMIN) which this year entered into an agreement with Reunion Gold Corporation (RGD) of Canada for underground and open pit gold mining at the Oko West project in Region Seven, yesterday announced it will pay an average  6.5% in royalty from the 350,000 ounces it projects to produce annually from around 2028.
