Granger urges move to manufacturing in Linden despite hope for bauxite

President David Granger has challenged Lindeners to embrace innovation and extend the reputation of their home from that of a mining town, which was solidified over the last 100 years, to that of a manufacturing town.

Sugar unions renew plea against closure of Wales

As the time draws nearer for the Wales estate to face closure, the three sugar unions yesterday again appealed to the government and GuySuCo to rescind this decision and they also contended that no alternative had yet been presented to the hundreds of workers who could soon be without jobs.

In observation of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Caribbean American Domestic Violence Awareness (CADVA) yesterday unveiled a sculpted doll in the image of Babita Sarjou, who was murdered six years ago, allegedly by her estranged husband.
