Brazil launches global anti-hunger alliance before G20 summit

RIO DE JANEIRO,ย  (Reuters) โ€“ Brazil launched the Global Alliance for Hunger and Poverty yesterday at the G20 Summit in Rio, a Brazilian government official said, with an initial 41 participating members pledging to lift 500 million people out of poverty through cash transfers and social protection systems.

The Abary sluice door suffered major damage this afternoon as a result of the spring tide causing flood threats to low-lying areas along the Belamy drain from Abary to Airy Hall, West Coast Berbice (WCB).
