Government is seeking to change the image of the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) at Onderneeming on the Essequibo Coast by creating new opportunities for the inmates such as writing the CSEC examination and being involved in various sporting activities.

Fire guts Bartica school dorm

The male dormitory and a library of the Bartica Secondary School were destroyed by fire on Saturday night but fortunately no one was injured and the rest of the school was saved through the efforts of residents who formed a bucket brigade.

Brazilian woman hurt in hit and run

A Brazilian woman, Simone Moreira was last night battling for her life and so was Robin Lall, a resident of Albouystown after they were involved in accidents in Georgetown and on the Rupert Craig Highway respectively last evening.
