Former Barbados Minister jailed in US for laundering bribes

A former Minister of Industry and elected member of Parliament of Barbados was sentenced today to two years in prison for his role in a scheme to launder bribe payments from a Barbadian insurance company through bank accounts in New York, according to a release from the US Department of Justice.

(Barbados Nation) The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC) said in a bulletin on its Facebook Page yesterday that there was another explosive eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano in St Vincent and the Grenadines at 4:49 p.m.

(Barbados Government Information Service) The Vaccination Medical Committee of the Ministry of Health and Wellness has advised that the efficacy or effectiveness of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 is greater if it is administered 10 to 12 weeks after the first dose.
