(Jamaica Gleaner) The proposal by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) to use School-Based Assessment (SBA) and multiple-choice examination, possibly to be administered online, as its 2020 examination has not found favour with the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (JAPPS).

Why Jamaica rejected Cuban COVID-19 drug

(Jamaica Gleaner) Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Jacquiline Bisasor-McKenzie has said that the Government’s decision to reject the use of the Cuban antiviral drug Interferon Alpha 2B to treat persons battling COVID-19 at this time was made after consultations with experts in the public-health sector.

Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke did not reveal the amount of money being sought but said the request was made yesterday for access to the IMF’s Rapid Financing Instrument.

COVID-19 testing kits for Jamaica blocked by US

(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica – Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Christopher Tufton a short while ago disclosed that test kit supplies for COVID-19 to Jamaica from the United States were blocked by that jurisdiction, and that the Government is now awaiting supplies from other sources.
