International leaders react to Venezuela election results

 (Reuters) – Leaders across the Americas and beyond reacted to Venezuela’s electoral authority’s announcement just after midnight on Monday that President Nicolas Maduro has won a third term in office, despite multiple exit polls that pointed to an opposition win.

CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuelans were awaiting results late on Sunday in the most consequential election in a quarter-century of socialist party rule, with the opposition saying they believed there were “reasons to celebrate” but asking supporters to continue monitoring vote counts.
