Deal reached to extend Israel-Hamas truce in Gaza by two days

CAIRO/JERUSALEM, (Reuters) – Mediator Qatar said today a truce between Israeli and Hamas forces in Gaza had been extended by two days, continuing a pause in seven weeks of warfare that has killed thousands and laid waste to the Palestinian enclave.

Greenpeace accuses China oil and gas firms of ‘greenwashing’ LNG purchases

SINGAPORE,  (Reuters) – Big oil and gas companies in China and elsewhere are using low-quality carbon offsets to “greenwash” their imports of natural gas while failing to make strong emissions cutting commitments, environment group Greenpeace said on Monday.

Thousands march against antisemitism in London

Hamas releases Israeli, Thai hostages under temporary truce

GAZA/JERUSALEM,  (Reuters) – Thirteen Israelis and four Thai nationals released from Hamas captivity arrived in Israel last night in the second step of a crucial hostage deal that briefly risked falling apart due to a dispute over the delivery of aid supplies into Gaza.

Hamas frees 24 hostages from Gaza on first day of truce

GAZA/ISRAEL-GAZA BORDER, (Reuters) – Hamas fighters released 24 hostages yesterday during the first day of the war’s first truce, including Israeli women and children and Thai farm workers, after guns fell silent across the Gaza Strip for the first time in seven weeks.
