More than 1 million children fled Ukraine since start of Russian invasion -UNICEF

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – More than 1 million children have fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries in the less than two weeks since Russia started its invasion of Ukraine, the head of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Wednesday.

Oil records worst day since pandemic as UAE calls for output hike

BENGALURU,  (Reuters) – Global oil prices today posted their biggest plunge since the early pandemic days nearly two years ago, after the United Arab Emirates said the OPEC member would support increasing output into a market in disarray because of supply disruptions caused by sanctions imposed on Russia after it invaded Ukraine.

Ukraine says Russia bombed children’s hospital in besieged Mariupol

LVIV, Ukraine,  (Reuters) – Ukraine accused Russia today of bombing a children’s hospital in the besieged port of Mariupol during an agreed ceasefire to enable civilians trapped in the city to escape.

Remorseful Shell abandons Russian oil

(Reuters) – Shell SHEL.L stopped buying Russian crude today and said it would phase out its involvement in all Russian hydrocarbons from oil to natural gas over Ukraine, becoming one of the first major Western oil companies to abandon Russia entirely.
