I would like to comment on two current issues in the news: The ANUG seat in Parliament should be immediately given up based on previous arrangements and it is a betrayal of all political and moral principles to hold onto that seat against the wish of that party – the most egregious example being that betrayal by Charrandass Persaud against the APNU coalition.

I was flummoxed by the revelation that “The GTU on Friday submitted its proposal to court-appointed mediators outlining the terms under which the country’s teachers will end industrial action and return to the classroom” (Kaieteur News 4.03.24) as I was unaware that this was among the reliefs sought from the court by the GTU and is therefore covered by the court-ordered mediation.
