Dear Editor I am compelled to respond to Gecom’s response (SN Jan 16) to my letter of Jan 14, in which my deceased mother was summoned to a hearing in order to have her name removed from the National Register of Registrants (List of Electors) Notwithstanding all that has been said in the response, I find the position flawed, since the removal of a deceased person from the NRR cannot and does not constitute an objection.

Dear Editor,  The  proposed electronic filing system mentioned at the opening of the legal year is an excellent idea provided that it improves access to justice, is well-designed, user friendly for lawyers and litigants in person, and compatible with the system in the Caribbean Court of Justice for appeals.

Dear Editor, Residents of Lethem, Region #9, who were fortunate to be selected for houses built by the government are enquiring about the sloth in handing over completed houses as well as the official process to return cement and steel collected for the construction process.

Dear Editor, Is the Berbice located proposed oil refinery dead or being deferred?

Dear Editor, The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has noted the contents of a letter written by Shamshun Mohamed and published in the media titled, “GECOM addressed document to a person they knew was dead.”

Dear Editor, The SN article of Jan 14, 2023 caught my attention when the headline stated, “Ministry defends need for Level 5 Hospital in New Amsterdam.”
