Dear Editor, Stabroek News in its November 19, 2023 editorial headlined ‘Patriotism and Geneva’ wrote; ‘No one should be impugning the allegiance to this country of any of our leaders, past or present.’

Dear Editor, I absorb what is going on in Guyana today, and ponder whether we have become an utterly soulless society.

Dear Editor, Earlier today, the US, UK, Canada, EU States and a few developed economies, rejected a proposal at the UN which sought to establish a global intergovernmental approach to bridging the gap between rich and poor, by stopping tax abuse globally.

Dear Editor, At a press conference on 21st November, Dr Keith Rowley was asked by a journalist why Venezuela was at this time ramping up its claim to Essequibo.

Dear Editor, Recently, with all the jingoism and bluster emanating from our neighbour to the West, a number of soi-disant “experts” have emerged from the woodwork, pontificating and pronouncing on various courses of action to be pursued, when in fact they are misleading the unsuspecting public.

Dear Editor It seems ludicrous, damning media reports into the scandalous 2019 fuel revelations for Region Five, before the Parliamentary oversight body, could be dubbed ‘misleading reporting’ and creating an ‘illusion of a scandal’ (KN Novem-ber 22), in a snipe hunt to deflect and detract from the (mis)management of this sordid (read corrupt) scandal from the regional authorities and make scapegoats of the media for its reporting of the matter.

Dear Editor, Take nothing away from Kjorn Ottley and Yannic Cariah, they deserve call ups following their superb Super 50 performances.

Dear Editor, Any leader/leadership of a main opposition party anywhere in this world that acquiesces to the advice/directive of the ruling government and international players in the oil and gas industry are not only selfish and uncaring but are also betrayers of the oppressed people they are tasked with representing.

Dear Editor, I was very glad to attend the London Guyana Oil/Sustainability conference last weekend.

Dear Editor, During the week of November 13 – 18, on Regent Street, specifically between Wellington and King Streets, no garbage truck passed during the hours of 8am to 6pm.

Dear Editor, For the past few years, I have been trying to convince the Athletic Association of Guyana, the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports, and the Guyana Teachers Union, that they need to reschedule the Regional Schools Athletic Track and Field Championships to a time of year that coincides with the Caribbean premier secondary school athletic championship and one that will ensure optimum performance by our student athletes.

Dear Editor, A few things have to be said about where Guyana is with this Venezuelan crisis, and it helps everyone when I do this in a bareknuckle manner.

Dear Editor, Thank you for publishing the many missives and news reports that keep us well informed and updated on Venezuela’s claim to legitimate territory that belongs to Guyana.

Dear Editor, The deceptive political narratives perpetuated by the state-owned Guyana Chronicle and Guyana Times newspapers demand immediate scrutiny and condemnation.

Dear Editor, Veteran PPP Marxist stalwart and its former Minister for 23 years Clement Rohee, in a media commentary last week, urged that the Guyana government immediately seek the assistance of the USA to counter Venezuela Maduro’s serious threat to Guyana’s territory.

Dear Editor, Shameful as it may be to countenance, Forbes Burnham, the first Prime Minister of Guyana, was an agent of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) before and, during his tenure in office (1962-72).

Dear Editor, What Venezuela is doing according to the declarations made by its Vice Presi-dent before the International Court of Justice last week, scares the hell out of me, and in fact should scare the citizens of every country on this planet.
