Dear Editor, Let me start by saying that the Ministry of Education (MoE) seems to be one of the ministries that is really trying.

Dear Editor, Franchise teams and National Teams are so vastly different concepts that one is left to wonder why the big confusion and evocation of national pride in the winning of the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW).

Dear Editor, The carnival-like celebrations were marred by chaos and confusion along city streets (SN September 26) bringing an otherwise successful tournament to an unbefitting end.

Dear Editor, Over the past few years and most recently, we have seen a clear demonstration of violence among youths in our streets, communities but primarily in our schools.

Dear Editor, I congratulate President Ali on a job well done with Richard Madeley, the British television presenter who was not qualified (in my opinion) to do that interview and should not have been allowed to.

Dear Editor, On a recent flight from Japan to the United States, I stumbled on a quote by Eric Arthur Blair, a British Indian essayist, novelist, journalist and critic, who under the penmanship of “George Orwell” said, “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

Dear Editor, Congressman Jeffries of the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to meet with leaders of the Opposition party, PNC on Sept 27th in Washington, D.C. 

Dear Editor, Aubrey Norton underplayed his hand with Irfaan Ali on the Venezuela issue.

Dear Editor, How often have we heard the expression, “cricket is an age game?”

Dear Editor, Congratulations to the Guyana Amazon Warriors! They have excelled above and beyond normal cricket talents.

Dear Editor, The post-match presentation where it was seen the TKR players removing their runner up medals, immediately after receipt, was disappointing, unsportsmanlike and it could be perceived as a collective show of rudeness to our President who placed the medals around their necks. 

Dear Editor, President Ali stood his ground during last week’s appearance on the British TV programme Good Morning Britain during the “interrogation” from one of the hosts Richard Madeley when asked about reparations from the descendants of British and Scottish slave owners in Guyana.

Dear Editor, What departed US Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch, and other Ameri-cans, couldn’t get done, the Venezuelans delivered. 

Dear Editor, It is important from the outset to state that the arbitral award of 1899 settled the border between Guyana and Venezuela.
