Letters to the Editor

Fix traffic lights at Regent and Vlissengen

Dear Editor, I have observed for several months that the traffic lights at the junction of Regent and Vlissengen roads, in the vicinity of the Guyana Zoological Park haven’t been operational, and which has resulted in motorists aggressively jostling each other which I fear will degenerate into road rage.

President Ali did us all proud

Dear Editor, On September 20th, President Irfaan Ali appeared on Good Morning Britain in the UK, to make the case for reparations for the original crime and ongoing legacies of the transatlantic slave trade.

It beggars belief that this Venezuelan objection is a coincidence

Dear Editor, The Qataris brokered the Prisoner for Cash swap between Iran and the USA, they were able to do this because Qataris are go-betweens for the rogue elements/nations and the rest of the world; it is therefore more than passing strange that mere days after the Amir of Qatar visited Guyana and announced plans to open an embassy in Georgetown, a problem for which the Qataris unique ‘skills’ are invaluable has surfaced.

Absurd

Dear Editor, I read with disbelief the article captioned “Police patrol vehicles to have English and Spanish writing” in SN’s September 20 edition.

Port Mourant in shocking state, PPP should be ashamed

Dear Editor, I recently went to visit my father’s place of birth in Port Mourant, Berbice and moving around the area and listening to some residents, it is indeed shocking and painful to see the disrespect, disdain and  apparent disinterest that this PPP/Civic government has for the community in the Port Mourant  area… come on, PPP government, please do something for your erstwhile   supporters in President Cheddi’s birthplace.
