Dear Editor, I wish to refer to President Jagdeo’s statement that he prefers to settle in court, the issue of the suspension for four months of Channel 6 TV station’s operating licence, rather than respond to a request for a further meeting on the matter, emanating from the owner of Channel 6 TV, CN Sharma.

Dear Editor, I refer to the discussion led by Ramprakash entitled ‘Guyanese should be wary of Western vilification of ‘Third World’ leaders’ (SN, 8.5.08).

Dear Editor, In my letter in SN of 10.3.08, captioned ‘Hillary has an ace up her sleeve,’  I cited two inevitable developments vis-à-vis the democratic presidential primary race between Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama, (1) that Mrs Clinton, in a last-ditch effort to secure the nomination, would try to have the delegates of Michigan and Florida seated, and (2), that the ultimate beneficiary from the political brouhaha in the competition and over the seating of delegates, will be the Republican Party and, of course, its presumptive presidential nominee John McCain.

Dear Editor, It would be prudent if we were to put the passport office, the registry which issues birth certificates and the police department which gives clearances together under one roof.

Dear Editor, Dr Prem Misir’s letter of May 28 in the Stabroek News attempts to take on the incomplete and continuing analysis of Professor Clive Thomas on the rising prices and the relief package announced by the government.

Dear Editor, Some time last year I wrote a letter about $800 million being allotted for hinterland road projects and nothing was mentioned about Port Kaituma.

Dear Editor, In your Wednesday edition (28.5.08) there is a Project Syndicate article entitled ‘Wars against women.’

Dear Editor, With reference to the letter, ‘Guysuco will not stand in the way of the community renovating Leonora Park’ (SN, 28.5.08), I am happy to see that Guysuco has indicated that it would not stand in the way of the renovation of the historic Leonora Park.
