Dear Editor, It was pretty interesting reading Alfred Bhulai’s letter regarding solar in Guyana.

Dear Editor, “I see a woman on bended knee Cutting cane for her family I see men at the waterside Casting nets at the surging tide…” It was real then, and so still very real today, when no such thing should be. 

Dear Editor, I am a young Guyanese who takes an interest in politics.

Dear Editor,        For the past six weeks, I have been bombarded by cricketers and cricket fans alike in Berbice as to why cricket is not being played in the Ancient County.

Dear Editor, I see Vice-President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo has thrown out a challenge for a company to produce solar power for the grid at 5 US cents per kilowatt hour (kWh).

Dear Editor, From time immemorial, the politics of inclusion and broad representation have always triumphed over fear and intimidation.

Dear Editor, I refer to the SN editorials “Many voices” (Apr 21) and “Government and the media” (Apr 11).

Dear Editor, I write again to join the chorus of persons including Ravi Devji  and  Baytoram Ramharackji who have made repeated calls with  justifications as to why the 5th of May must be renamed from Arrival Day to Indian Arrival  Day or Indian Immigration day. 

Dear Editor, Ministers of Governance and Parliamentary Affairs, Education and of Public Service have been reported as having engaged an unidentified and unnumbered Team of representatives of the Guyana Teacher’s Union on 20 April last.

Dear Editor, A picture tells a thousand words. A clear message was sent to the administration with the pix (as published in SN a couple weeks ago) showing the ABCE Ambassadors visiting with GHRA co-President Mike McCormack and his wife at the NGO’s office.

Dear Editor, So the new North West ferry is indeed a ‘game changer’.

Dear Editor, Relief of flooding in the capital city boils down to how quickly excess water can be discharged particularly to the Demerara River.

Dear Editor, I read of the many difficulties people experience or encounter for services at various offices.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to two letters in the media authored by Opposition Member of Parliament, Jermaine Figureira that appeared in the Stabroek News edition of April 22, 2023, with the caption “some worthwhile strategies, if implemented, can prevent Dutch disease”… and in the Stabroek News edition of April 24, 2023, with the caption, “one of our significant challenges has been the ethical and equitable division of wealth”.

Dear Editor, The independent press, media, the fourth estate of any country, and more specifically, in a democratic state, is vitally important.

Dear Editor, I write to comment on one issue in your well-argued Editorial titled ‘Hess’ carbon offset deal’ which begins: ‘You have to give it to Bharrat Jagdeo.

Dear Editor, The letter by Ian Edwards ‘Indigenous man’, (21st April), raises interesting points.
