Dear Editor, “I see a woman on bended knee Cutting cane for her family I see men at the waterside Casting nets at the surging tide…” It was real then, and so still very real today, when no such thing should be. 

No cricket in the Ancient County

Dear Editor,        For the past six weeks, I have been bombarded by cricketers and cricket fans alike in Berbice as to why cricket is not being played in the Ancient County.

May 5th must be renamed to Indian Arrival Day

Dear Editor, I write again to join the chorus of persons including Ravi Devji  and  Baytoram Ramharackji who have made repeated calls with  justifications as to why the 5th of May must be renamed from Arrival Day to Indian Arrival  Day or Indian Immigration day. 

Figueira’s two letters were void of the usual politically leanings

Dear Editor, Reference is made to two letters in the media authored by Opposition Member of Parliament, Jermaine Figureira that appeared in the Stabroek News edition of April 22, 2023, with the caption “some worthwhile strategies, if implemented, can prevent Dutch disease”… and in the Stabroek News edition of April 24, 2023, with the caption, “one of our significant challenges has been the ethical and equitable division of wealth”.
