Dear Editor, Mr Clive Fredericks’ letter captioned “The original intention of the Hinterland Scholarship Programme was that students live with families in Georgetown”, (08.03.07) is not an opinion shared by all hinterland scholarship awardees, both present and past.

Dear Editor I probably was one of the first persons to write ( emailed) the Minister of Amerindian Affairs on the idea of a hostel/dormitory for people (Amerindian/Non Amerindian) of the hinterland who are attending technical colleges/teachers’ college/University of Guyana a few years ago.

Dear Editor, Mr. Vishnu Bisram’s reply in his letter captioned “I did not intend to cast aspersions on Dr Jagan” (08.03.07) to Janet Jagan’s accusation against him of gossip was downright pathetic.
