Letters to the Editor

Demographic shifts and owning the economy

Dear Editor, Africans and Indians in Guyana must be careful that as we continue divisions along lines of race and deep seated dislike for each other, White Americans and Europeans along with the Chinese, take over Guyana.

There was good reason for Police Service Commission to join Mahipaul action

Dear Editor, Following the ruling of Justice Gino Persaud on March 24, 2023, that President Mohamed Irfaan Ali violated the Constitution of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana when on June 16, 2021, he unlawfully suspended the members of the Police Service Commission, Attorney general, Mohabir Anil Nandlall, SC, MP, made a statement on the National Communications Network (NCN) where he sought to justify the unconstitutional action of the President.

Being rich and hungry at the same time

Dear Editor, Since the PPP Government and its agents are very vigilant with media presentations, regardless of how small or insignificant they may be, I thought that I would spare a reminder, so as not to disturb anyone.

Gov’t squander and empty promises

Dear Editor, It is very unfortunate to see our government squandering money that’s supposed to be making Guyanese lives better, but instead, selectively gives pennies to the few that they’ve successfully reduced to garbage collectors/drain cleaners.

I too am yet to receive any funding from any of our governments

Dear Editor, In reference to Terry Gajraj who publicly complained about the fact that he has not been recognized by our government as a Guyanese singer performing extensively in North America and Mahadeo Shivraj who similarly complained of the fact that he has produced some seven full length commercial films without any government support, both of whom I have worked with and I welcome them to the club.
