Genetic science has a lot to offer

Dear Editor, Mr. Paul Kokoski’s letter captioned “the proper use of genetic science requires moral reflection” (08.02.07) should not condemn outright the new techniques of genetic science that can possibly improve the quality of human life.

No salary increases for years, wages often paid late

Dear Editor, We are guards employed by the United Associates Security and Domestic Services (UASDS) in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) and are very perturbed by some developments here To begin with, we are constantly receiving our salaries very late and for January 2008, we have not been paid although it is the end of the month.

This road is impassable, miners are suffering

Dear Editor, Miners in Region No 2 that use the Onderneeming road/interior trail, that takes them into the interior, to gain access to Barama Road are appealing to the minister to look at the road and have it repaired.

Voters list for union elections not received

Dear Editor, Next month, the Guyana Teachers’ Union will be holding its elections and to date, Cummings Lodge Secondary School has not received either the preliminary voters list or the final voters list from the union.
