Dear Editor, I, like many Guyanese, feel a deep sense of hurt that Guyana has again seen the type of violence that occurred at Lusignan.

Dear Editor, We are forming a Victims’ Rights Association (VRA) to stand with victims of criminal acts and struggle for the speedy implementation of hanging once the accused is tried by a court of law and found guilty and the appeal process confirms guilt.

Dear Editor, First I want to add my condolences to the family and friends of Cpl Williams and those of the other eleven persons killed in the massacre in Lusignan.

Dear Editor, The decision to clear farmlands aback Buxton/Friendship, and as far as Enmore to the east and Triumph/BV to the west for security reasons, with an offer of some compensation to affected farmers, should have caused the Ministry of Agriculture to be the vanguard of such an operation.
