Letters to the Editor

Use energy saving light bulbs to conserve electricity

Dear Editor, GPL’s timely intervention to get people to conserve electricity in these blackout and energy hungry times should be a reminder to Guyanese that we import electricity in the form of fuel, generating equipment, cabling, skilled workers and other items necessary for the generation of electricity.

Mr Burnham had also faced high oil prices

Dear Editor, I smile wryly when I see the numerous explanations by the government and the many letters written by the pseudo-ghost writers adamantly declaring that VAT is not responsible for the spiraling cost of living.

Deal with the issues not the personalities

Dear Editor, Please allow me to make a brief response to two letters captioned: “Indian loyalty should not be construed as due to loyalty to the PPP but to fear of being ostracised or attacked” by an unnamed writer, and “By its works shall the Alliance be judged” by Barrington Braithwaite.
