Dear Editor, In what can only be described as stinging and frustrated statements from top judicial officers of the need for more judges in an overburdened and taxed system, yet again another promise… the cries will be addressed within three months, with the appointments of the requisite Commissions – the PSC and JSC.

Dear Editor, The Macedonia Joppa Volunteer Committee (MJVC) on the Corentyne welcomes the New Year after two harsh years of the COVID 19 pandemic that took the lives of almost 1,300 Guyanese, 72,000 hospitalizations and more than 70,000 recoveries.

Dear Editor, I noted with interest the use of taxpayers’ money by the Department of Environment and Climate Change for a full-page advertisement in the Stabroek News, ‘Erroneous forest carbon analysis by Dr Janette Bulkan’, (06 January 2023). 

Dear Editor, It bears repeating that a country is judged on how it treats its most vulnerable members of society.

Dear Editor, I have to agree with President Ali and the Government side when they say that the Opposition PNC is instigating and politicizing the issue of moving the remaining 5-7 holdout squatters who have refused Government offers for alternative land and housing.

Dear Editor, We were happy to hear of Public Works Minister Bishop Edghill’s remarks about rehabilitating 1200 community roads across Guyana in an article carried by DPI on 7th January 2023.

Dear Editor, I was pleasantly surprised after reading on December 30, 2022, that the Government of Guyana entered into a loan agreement with the Bank of China for $160.8M Euros for the construction of the New Demerara Harbour Bridge.

Dear Editor,  On December 24 2022 a letter under my pen, “The AG should advise what recourse should be resorted to against GWI”, was published in Stabroek News.

Dear Editor, There is confusion about the term “Ancestral Land” which is now ignorantly brandished about by politicians misleading Afro and Indo-Guyanese folk, especially Afro-Guyanese.
