Dear Editor, On Wednesday, Patentia, West Bank Demerara experienced a flood after 15:00 hours which lasted until 19:30 hours before signs of withdrawal of the floodwater.

I support a 14-day exercise to correct register

Dear Editor, I fully and unequivocally support the conduct of a fourteen (14) day exercise under section 24A ‘Correc-tion of the Register’ by the Guyana Elections Commission in preparation for Local Government Elec-tions.

Nonagenarian awaiting acknowledgement from NIS

Dear Editor, As a nonagenarian I have addressed several Registered letters to the General Manager of the National Insurance Scheme:- 1) To ask to facilitate my Pension Order Book being lodged in my Bank Account 2)  That I be included in their ‘Outreach Programme’ After several months I still await any acknowledgement in Prashad Nagar, Region Four.

List confusion

Dear Editor, I am befuddled.  Amidst all the claims and counter claims about the List and bloat among other contentious issues, now a court filing has an embarrassed Chief Election Officer scrambling to correct with the likelihood of the elections date being affected. 

Pleas of Cornelia Ida have fallen on deaf ears

Dear Editor, We live in strange times. We read of the people of Den Amstel preventing the government from engaging in rehabilitation of the community centre and ground, while we the people of Cornelia Ida have been longing to have ours looked after, our pleas falling on deaf ears and unresponsive officials, years after promises were given to us.
