Letters to the Editor

Mr Norton refuses to see political adaptation as a device for a more effective approach

Dear Editor, Opposition Leader, Aubrey Norton, a known supporter of certain New York-based African American members of the Democratic Party in the USA should have paid attention to the words of former US President Barack Obama when he declared at a recent public speaking event in the US that: ‘Democracy is under assault in the US and around the world’ and that ‘the foundational principles of democracy are being challenged.’

The AFC is quite dead

Dear Editor, Quite recently the AFC has been in the news about their departure from the APNU as well as not taking part in the Local Government Elections (LGE).

Mr Green’s hypocrisy is astonishing

Dear Editor, In his letter “One man and one group seem to know what our public servants need” (Stabroek News, Nov.19, 2022), Hamilton Green, Elder, writes “Dictatorship is where a governing group ignores the other tiers of governance, a dictatorship is where established social and other institutions, such as religious bodies, the trade unions, are trivialized, if not trampled upon.”
