The Old Age Pension Office did not make contact with this shut-in as promised

Dear Editor, The Catchment District was Prashad Nagar, the scheduled distribution date October 31, at the Prashad Nagar Mosque – one block from the residence of this shut-in pensioner, who had been fortunate to have someone deliver a letter from him, along with current pension book for identification, explaining his non-attendance at the distribution service.

Saxacalli pensioner wants his cash grant

Dear Editor, Old age pensioners were glad when they learnt that the Welfare Officer from Bartica would be visiting Saxacalli on 2nd November, 2022 to issue old age pension books and pay the long awaited cash grant of $28,000. 

My claim for NIS medical benefits has finally been resolved

Dear Editor, On Sunday November 6, 2022, I received a telephone call from a National Insurance Scheme staffer, on behalf of the NIS General Manager, with regard to my letter in Stabroek News last Saturday, under the headline: ‘’I am still waiting on NIS to respond to my claim for medical benefit”.

Dear Editor, Under a cloudy sky and with a soft cool breeze caressing the trees that still have on most of their green and somewhat warped leaves, the famous Smokey Park of Richmond Hill, New York City was enlivened by an historic moment when a special tree was planted on the southern side of the Park in tribute to those who had fallen to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as for those who have suffered as a result of this deadly virus.
