Dear Editor, Our attention has been drawn to a letter penned by Vincent Alexander, GECOM Commissioner, published in the Stabroek News on the 14th of September, 2022, at page six, under the headline `The GECOM Chair voted against an extension of claims’.

Dear Editor, The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has noted the contents of a letter published in the Wednesday, September 14, 2022 edition of the Stabroek News, indicating that the Commission took a decision at its Statutory Meeting on Tuesday, 13th September, 2022, not to extend the period for the ongoing Claims and Objections exercise.

Dear Editor, September 15 is designated by the United Nations as International Day for Democracy.

Dear Editor, I am penning this letter out of pure frustration with the systems that are in place for persons to acquire a mortgage in Guyana.

Dear Editor, I was confident enough of the fact of a renegotiation of the 2016 Agreement, that I had announced on my TV Programme Plain Talk that President Granger and Exxon had indeed signed a Deed of Amendment in late 2019 varying the 2016 Petroleum Agreement to make the royalty paid to the Government a non-recoverable expense.

Dear Editor, The plan for 5000 house lots is admirable, but the recipients will need additional help to reap the benefits of home ownership.

Dear Editor, I wish to give my contribution to the ongoing issue of the overpayment to two contractors at Rose Hall Estate in response to the invitation extended by letter writer Narendra Lall in his letter to the media dated 13th September.

Dear Editor, I noticed that Mr. Joseph Hamilton made several statements in a recent Face-book post concerning the Essequibo/ Pomeroon Regional Cooperative Union Ltd.
