Dear Editor, Omar Khayyam, the l2th century renowned Persian philosopher, poet, astronomer and mathematician in his glorious ‘Rubaiyat’ wrote the following beautiful quatrain:- “T’is all a Chequer Board of Nights and Days Where Destiny with Men for Pieces plays; Hither and thither moves and mates and slays And one by one back in the closet lays.”

How did the gov’t not know that the accounts were audited for the period as stated?

Dear Editor, In the continuing imbroglio between the Government and the African organisation over allegations and counter allegations about accountability and transparency, two points struck me: From the inception of the war of words, why did the organisation not make known its affairs were audited for the period 2018-2021 by a government agency, and given a clean bill of health?
