Dear Editor, Permit me to respond to a letter dated August 6, 2022 written by Joel Bhagwandin, Financial Analyst, captioned,’ Guyana poised to earn close to US$5b annually when the four approved oil platforms are producing concurrently’.

Dear Editor, If Hits and Jams can do the bidding of the PPP government by using entertainment to win over our nation’s youth in order for them to support an unjust regime then we can be innovative in bringing about an entertainment group to rival them while educating our youths that the PPP strategy is to get their political support which if successful will continue the oppression, discrimination and marginalisation of Blacks in Guyana. 

Dear Editor, As someone inspired by Burnham during my youth, who ate his fair share of the PNC’s cook-up during their political meetings attended by my father and myself in the 1970s at Alleyne’s High School, also as a Guyanese who lived first-hand through recent attempts by the APNU-AFC to overturn the results of the 2020 National Elections, I consider it a great responsibility to share my thoughts on Aubrey Norton’s recent declaration at the PNCR’s General Congress on August 06, 2022 (SN Aug 08/22) for the party to ‘slip into campaign mode’.

Dear Editor, Guyana, as a member of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC), routinely joins in its hypocritical condemnation of India.

Dear Editor, As I understand it, a N.I.S. pensioner who makes in excess of 750 contribution is entitled to 1% on every 50 contributions in excess of the 750.

Dear Editor, The rallying cry for public servants in terms of salary increases in view of the prevailing economic circumstances is noble. 

Dear Editor, I have had a life experience in humility which I will never forget.

Dear Editor, I was not surprised that Exxon’s response to my letter of August 2, 2022, would entail the same old fancy mumbo jumbo talking points through their PR that mean nothing to the Guyanese people and only meant for kerfuffle.

Dear Editor, On Saturday August 6th, 2022 the Communications Manager of Esso Exploration wrote a letter that appeared in the major Guyanese newspapers in which she made a number of points with regard to the EPA permits.
