Dear Editor, Now we have the Senior Finance Minister asserting at the Guyana Anti-Corruption Framework training workshop, organized by the Ministry of Governance, that he firmly believes transparency and accountability are crucial in the fight against corruption.

Dear Editor, The recent documentary on Exxon that also discussed Guyana was concerning.

Dear Editor, Two letters in SN on June 18 on a particular matter caught my attention.

Dear Editor,  After reading the Editorial `Minister Indar and Western Logistics’ (SN, 27th June 2022) in which Minister Deodat Indar was alleged to once be a Director of Western Logistics which provides services to the oil and gas industry a question comes to mind.

Dear Editor, The smooth and distinguished passing of the baton, so to speak, in Grenada, must be applauded. 

Dear Editor, I refer to page 11 of Kaieteur News (Friday the 24th June) which carries a feature entitled, “Exxon’s contract on 2% royalty misleading as Guyana bears the burden – Chris Ram”.

Dear Editor, Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) boss, Mr. Godfrey Statia, made a rare public media commentary on the roiling issue of royalties.

Dear Editor, Since my letter in this newspaper on June 16 about the deplorable state of Sixth Street, Cummings Lodge no action has been taken.

Dear Editor, I recently read with keen interest articles in the Stabroek News and Kaieteur News about Justice Sandil Kissoon setting free Marlon Garnett a  murder accused who pleaded guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to several recent reports (including a statement by GRA’s Godfrey Statia) and commentaries relating to royalty and whether it is recovered as company costs for operations.

Dear Editor, First there was no meaningful explanation on the non-issuance of the Local Content Certificate, then piecemeal explanations were put forward but it seems not to the company denied.

Dear Editor, The Guyana Revenue Authority chose to maintain its objectivity by not engaging in public discourse/debate on issues related to taxation of the Oil and Gas Industry, since in many instances, these topical matters posed a conflict of interest for the Agency given its remit to protect and maintain the confidentiality of taxpayers’ information.

Dear Editor, The VICE news international story on American TV’s “Showtime” should have severely humbled the Government side to come down from its high horse and ask how will that play out in the 2025 elections.

Dear Editor, The recent announcements about the proposed General and Regional Elections Commission of Inquiry cast a shadow of doubt over the process.

Dear Editor, ‘Provision of Mathematics and English texts for all students between Grades Seven to 13.”

Dear Editor, The demands for “power sharing” are once again rising to a crescendo in sections of Opposition camp as it did after 2011 but had become muted after forming a coalition government in 2015.
