Let the cases begin unhindered

Dear Editor, The last minute impediment fired, just as the elections fraud cases were set to properly begin in the magistrate court, has been dismissed by the High Court, paving the way for the cases to begin. 

Opposition ought to take note

Dear Editor, Of all the many things said in its Editorial  ‘Independence Anniversary’ (SN May 26), about the opposition’s boycott of this year’s observances in its stronghold, the sentence that stands out was: “It was the PNC which was in office in 1966, and yet despite that fact it did not prevent Cheddi Jagan from going to the National Park.”

Procurement overhaul or damage control?

Dear Editor, In a no nonsense putting on notice, operatives dealing with procurement matters in state agencies, including national tender board officials, czars and clerks, have been put on notice for any skullduggery and wrong doing, as part of a review and overhaul of the procurement processes and systems.
