Use of an African in a cartoon to caricature poverty in Guyana was repugnant

Dear Editor, The Coordinating Council and member organizations of the International Decade for People of African Descent Assembly-Guyana (IDPADA-G) would like to register in the strongest terms our disgust and disappointment that a media house would sanction the publication of a cartoon depiction of poverty in Guyana’s future symbolized by a person of African descent in rags, armed, and driving fear into some hapless victim.
