A call on Mae’s to apologise

Dear Editor, The Amerindian Action Movement of Guyana is calling on the administration of the Mae’s private school in Subryanville to apologise to the Amerindian child it ethnically discriminated against because the child wore his cultural attire as part of the school’s observance of Guyana’s Independence celebration.

Gov’t must stop pussyfooting with sugar industry

Dear Editor, I refer to Mr E. B. John’s letter: `Fundamentally counterproductive interventions on GuySuCo’ (SN,29/5/18) One cannot gainsay the excellent points made by Mr John about the deep psycho-social role and impact of GuySuCo and the sugar industry on the lives of Guyanese who work and live in the sugar estates.
