Dear Editor,
Days after David Jessop, made the observation, “The region’s recent history is being lost” in his weekly column in Sunday Stabroek, March 25, it was pleasing to see the Jamaican PM was moved to taking tangible and decisive action: ‘Jamaica PM moving to secure legacies of leaders, museums, libraries to be built’ (SN, March 27).
Dear Editor,
In response to Ms Teixeira’s letter in SN last Sunday, I would, in all modesty, thank her for her very lengthy dissertation on all my faults and betrayals of her and the head honchos of the PPP, including comparing myself and my “nemesis”, Mr Bharrat Jagdeo.
Dear Editor,
Moses Nagamootoo’s column published by the state-owned, Guyana Chronicle, aptly named ‘My Turn’ continues to reflect his narcissistic tendencies.
Dear Editor,
Comments made by Public Security Minister Khemraj Ramjattan in East Canje earlier this month (circulated on YouTube), merit a response, for the simple reason that Minister Ramjattan persists in peddling more misrepresentations about various issues.
Dear Editor,
Mr Justin Nedd, Chief Executive Offi-cer (CEO) of Guyana Telephone & Tele-graph Company (GTT), made the following comment at the launch of GTT’s Innov8 Technology Exhibition held at the Guyana Marriott Hotel on March 24th, 2018, as carried by Demerara News Online: “Very often in Guyana, and I have seen this several times, we have many experts but those experts – we really have to ask ourselves: are they really experts or do they have access to the web so they use that access and sometimes fool the masses?”
Dear Editor,
Here are extracts from the Anand Goolsarran’s Accountability Watch in SN of Monday March 19 – in the hope that they would be brought to the attention of those who have arrogated to themselves the management of the sugar industry:
“Leadership, ethics and corporate citizenship
“The governing body should lead ethically and effectively.
Dear Editor,
I have studiously observed the positive impact which newly elected President of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Mr Hilbert Foster has already had upon the cricketing scene in Guyana.
Dear Editor,
With reference to what Lincoln Lewis said in a letter to Stabroek News of March 21, we have heard it ad nauseam (‘This society needs to embrace more liberated and progressive thinking’).
Worldwide cricket fans have had their appetites filled in the last week, whilst experiencing a roller coaster of emotions.
Dear Editor,
I learnt incidentally on March 26, that March 21, 2018 was designated World Poetry Day by the United Nations.
Dear Editor,
I am appalled and disgusted by the atrocious treatment of Guyanese by the management of Caribbean Airlines.
Dear Editor,
I had intended, after my last letter, never again to become involved in any “serious debate” on the subject of Guyanese Creolese.
Dear Editor,
On Saturday, March 23, an article was carried in the Guyana Times headlined ‘Toshaos Council accuses Govt of elections meddling’.
Dear Editor,
It is fitting and commendable that Stabroek News published an eight-page supplement to commemorate the one hundredth birth anniversary of Dr Cheddi B Jagan.
Dear Editor,
Human beings are naturally curious creatures. Since the dawn of human civilization, perhaps longer than civilization itself, humans have asked profound fundamental questions about our existence, the world which we occupy, and what our place is in it.
Dear Editor,
After tribulations with the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) my meter was installed on Thursday 22nd March, 2018.
Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,
How petty of the Government of Guyana to cancel the Jagan Centenary stamp.
Dear Editor,
For the past few weeks I have noticed an increasing trend of police traffic officers with speed guns once again conducting their activities around bends in the roads.
Dear Editor,
Our nation is blessed to have a high standard Elections Commission that is well staffed and funded to provide us with reliable general and local government elections, I would like to suggest to our administration that we utilize these events to not only elect officials but to add questions to the ballot and let the people of the nation have their say on the issues that affect our daily lives.
