WI squad for Lords should include iconic names from 2012, 2016

Dear Editor, Notwithstanding the attempts by administrators and journalists to convince the rest of us that the five day version is the ‘ultimate’ form of cricket, I suspect the three hour game at Lords on May 31 between the two-time reigning world champions West Indies, versus the Rest of the World will be watched and listened to by more people than any other cricket match, if marketed properly.

The announcement this February by Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC), Mr Trevor Benn, that the Commission was preparing a code of ethics intended to guide the work and conduct of land surveyors across the country, is another in a growing list of organisations that is seeking to upgrade or lay down standards by which they conduct their operations.

Kingston property owners should take note

Dear Editor,  The well-presented course of action presented by the Chartered Engineer, Charles Sohan  (SN March 8) available to the owner of the North Road business property over alleged damage by ongoing construction work of an adjacent property, is also the same course of action available to property owners in Kingston over the same alleged grievance.

Dutch Bottle has means to address damage to property caused by adjacent construction

Dear Editor, In an article which appeared in SN on March 6, it was reported that Ms Chuck- A-Sang, owner of the Dutch Bottle Cafe, a colonial-style building on North Road, expressed concern regarding damage to her 100-year property from vibrations generated by piles being driven for the foundation of an adjoining three-story building under construction by Crown Mining Supplies (CMS).
