On Tuesday of last week United Nations Secretary General António Guterres selected the International Court of Justice as the means to a solution to the controversy which had arisen as a consequence of Venezuela’s contention that the 1899 Arbitral Award was null and void.

Dear Editor, I have noted the statements by the Prime Minister Nagamootoo in the Guyana Chronicle with some amusement, where he expresses solidarity and mounts, in his view, a defence of older comrades and leaders of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) – comrades he claims are the ones who former President Bharrat Jagdeo wants to push out of the party.

No mistakes can be made in ICJ case

Dear Editor, It is my sincere hope that the team of lawyers who will be representing the country’s border case against Venezuela at the ICJ in the near future does not let key dates slip by as was demonstrated in the Dipcon fiasco that cost the Nation millions of dollars, which would have been handy today for the sugar worker severance.
