Dear Editor, It was recently revealed in the media that police will be embarking on a campaign to educate road users about the laws governing safety seats for children in vehicles.

Dear Editor, Former President Donald Ramotar is saying `Guyanese of all political views must join the fight to promote integrity in public life’ (SN, 2nd November, 2017) yet he is unprepared to hold himself to the same standard he is asking of the society.

In most countries (and Guyana is no exception) issues relating to “public safety” rank highly on the list of concerns for the population and the government.

Dear Editor, US President Donald Trump, in reaction to the Islamic related terror attack in New York on Tuesday afternoon, said he will ask Congress to terminate the Diversity Visa Program (DVP) under which the Uzbek terrorist was granted a green card (through the lottery system) to settle in America.

Dear Editor, I was recently moved to notice another benefit being given to Youth and Sports from the very Ministry which also has to do with Culture, especially that of Visual Arts.

Dear Editor, I have taken note of Stabroek News’ unhealthy discourse in its Sunday, October 29th, 2017 Editorial `The President and the teachers’ and its Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 Editorial `Testing government’s take-it-or-leave-it-pay negotiating strategy’.

Dear Editor, There are in excess of thirty buses plying the Georgetown/Timehri route but the Timehri bus park can only accommodate eleven buses at any given time. 

Dear Editor, Social cohesion is alive and well in Region 2.

Dear Editor, I make no secret that I am a staunch supporter of the PNC and therefore a (“dyed in the wool”) backer of President Granger and our Coalition Government.

Dear Editor, In my frequent trips abroad I usually relieve the boredom of long hours in confined spaces by reading and writing; during my current trip (31/10/17) I have just read the report in the Trinidad Guardian titled: “Sweet Success” which pictorially featured the Graduates of the UWI St Augustine Campus, impressively dressed in the typical Graduation gowns & caps.

Dear Editor, The manner of the appointment of Mr. James Patterson as Chairman of one of the most important institutions in our country, the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) and subsequent revelations in relation to his statement on his CV have once more raised the issue of integrity in public life.

A story making international headlines this week, amid the news of the indictments in Washington and Tuesday’s terror attack in New York, involved contestants of Peru’s Miss Universe Pageant reciting statistics detailing violence against women in that country, rather than giving their body measurements as had been expected.

Dear Editor, I write to let you know about a new animal organisation called “Animal Welfare Activists of Guyana”, which was started up by myself, with the help of Syeada Manbodh (well known Animal Rights Activist) on 15th July 2017 with the intention of improving animal welfare standards in Guyana.

Dear Editor, As I reflect today on the 9th anniversary of the passing of David de Caires, I wonder what action he would have advocated on the way forward if he were still with us today!
