Dear Editor, I would like to thank US Ambassador Perry Holloway for his statement on the impasse created by President Granger’s unilateral appointment of the chairman of GECOM.

On June 2nd this year, after rejecting the second list of GECOM nominees submitted by Opposition Leader, Bharrat Jagdeo, President David Granger had this to say about the way forward.

Dear Editor, I refer to the news item `CJ to rule December 11 on Seafield farmers challenge’ (SN October 26th) and crave your indulgence to offer some clarification on certain issues contained therein which, as stated, seems to suggest some level of dereliction of duty on the part of the Honourable Chancellor of the Judiciary (ag) in her role as Chief Justice (ag) as she then was.

Dear Editor, When the coalition came to power in 2015, it was supposed to usher in a new political dispensation.

Dear Editor, The Rastafari Community of all Guyana commends His Excellency President David Granger on the appointment of a Chairman for the Guyana Elections Commission GECOM in accordance with Article 161 (2) of the Constitution of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

Dear Editor, My most recent letter to the press had arbitrarily proposed a monthly minimum wage of G$146,000 for public servants, which is often called a guesstimate in economic parlance. 

President Trump’s decision to approach America’s opioid crisis as a “national health emergency” is a welcome departure, if only rhetorically, from his country’s decades-long attitude to illegal drugs.

Dear Editor, The PPP/C continues to express its grave concerns about the unfair and unhealthy developments as it relates to the procurement process to identify the Contractor for the New Demerara River crossing.

Dear Editor, The recent Constitutional appointment by His Excellency David Arthur Granger has publicly revealed what Africans in Guyana and the Caribbean all know.
