Dear Editor, It has become necessary to underscore the fact that a new trend seems to be developing, whereby persons wishing to etch their names in the public psyche latch onto a prominent individual in society, which, more often than not these days, is former president and current Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo – an art that some could argue has been perfected by columnist, Freddie Kissoon.

This is a contradictory government.  President David Granger goes to the United Nations and delivers an impressive address, once again putting the case to the world body as to why the commitment given by former Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and subsequently the present incumbent of that office, António Guterres, should be adhered to.

Dear Editor, Having read the report ‘Constitutional compliance needed, not reform’  -Nandlall’ (SN,  September 22) I must say there is full agreement with the views expressed by PPP/C Member of Parliament Anil Nandlall.

Dear Editor, I believe it is the mandate of any citizen of the land, who expects veracity in the leaders they have chosen, if they are in possession of facts, to expose any politician for duplicitous statements or actions.

Dear Editor, The residents of the Parikwaranau Village located in South-Central Rupununi, Region 9 (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) are very concerned that a known cattle rancher has taken over and fenced a portion of their titled village lands without their consent.

Dear Editor, Misusing our oil related assets and for that matter any assets will only devour the future of our women, children and underprivileged.

Dear Editor, The frightening thing with police brutality is, like other forms of abuse, it escalates if not confronted and stopped.
