Are we conscious of the priceless opportunity of Caricom?

Dear Editor, With Carifesta a mere week or so away, and with Barbados and most of the Caribbean enmeshed in social and governmental dysfunction and crisis, the fundamental question that arises is as follows:- Will we use Carifesta to launch a powerful cultural and artistic campaign to regenerate our Barbadian and wider Caribbean nation, or will we squander this priceless opportunity that has come our way?

CoI is interesting

Dear Editor, Like Mr Conway I find the case of the CoI into the alleged plot to assassinate the President quite interesting for what it says about the manner in which police investigations are conducted (interviews or interrogations); how decisions are made; and the protocols and chain of command.

City Hall’s bizarre behaviour

This is the second time in less than a month that we have had reason to editorialise on the protracted impasse between City Hall and two private contractors, Cevons and Puran Brothers over the municipality’s $300 million-odd debt to the two companies and the consequences that continue to derive therefrom.
