Dear Editor, I write on behalf of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) to address the incorrect statement made by an anonymous letter writer in the February 14, 2024, edition of Stabroek News concerning the GRA’s audit history.

Dear Editor, With a tempest of frustration and outrage boiling within, I am compelled to address the epidemic of recklessness that has laid siege to our roadways.

Dear Editor Soulless is a nation that mistreats and oppresses its teachers and when a government tramples on the livelihood and rights of our nation’s educators, the entire country must stand up to that government and stand with the moulders of our nation’s children.

Dear Editor, It is very lamentable that there is the on-going teachers’ strike facing the nation.

Dear Editor, Reports of a current event affecting Trinidad and Tobago have reached our shores.

Dear Editor, Well it was confirmed; some, to gain the reins of government, are prepared to go the rigging route.

At a time when the economic trajectory of Guyana may appear to be heading in a potentially positive direction – a circumstance that is dictated, chiefly, by evidence that the country’s oil wealth is beginning to bring about some measure of socio-economic transformation, we are witnessing – or at least so it seems – the emergence of trends that are known to attend such changes in countries blessed with relatively sudden shifts in economic fortunes.

Dear Editor, I do not want to drag on and make this a lengthy letter.

Dear Editor, A country’s success does not depend on its natural resources, otherwise since Independence the people of Guyana would have been rich from Guyana’s gold, diamonds, bauxite, agriculture, forests, fish, etc.

Dear Editor, I write in response to the headline, “You can’t build roads and teachers hungry”, attributed to the GTU President.

Dear Editor, I am concerned what knowledge and practice of obeah does Minister Priya Manickchand understand and know that led her to believe and state that the actions of a person last Thursday (February 15, 2024) in front of the Ministry of Education was an obeah act?

Dear Editor, I have been a strong advocate for better salaries and benefits for teachers both in Guyana and in North Carolina where the North Carolina Constitution prohibits collective bargaining and strikes for public sector workers.

Dear Editor, The union wants a formal invitation from government on meaningful talks on salaries before ending its strike action. 

Well, who can argue against the Georgetown Seafront and Resort Convention Centre to be built along Carifesta Avenue over the next three years?

Dear Editor, There had been apparent controversy regarding both prices and incomes data generated by official reports purportedly measuring the Guyana Cost of Living, reflected  by the Consumer Price Index, CPI and the Nominal Gross Domestic Product, GDP.
