As outlined in yesterday’s editorial, the manner in which the APNU+AFC government and GuySuCo communicated the decision to close the Wales Sugar Estate was insensitive to a community that faces the loss of hundreds of jobs and puts families at risk of further penury and disintegration.

Dear Editor, One cannot help but be depressed about the equitable development of our nation when those on both sides of the political spectrum continue to carry on the affairs of our country with the misguided approach that they are right in whatever they are engaged in, while the other side is wrong.

Dear Editor, All of a sudden the newspapers are brimming with news about the drought, its effects on rice cultivation and the noble efforts being made by the NDIA and RDCs to help alleviate the shortage of irrigation water.

Dear Editor, I read with great dismay that a child has died as a result of carelessness on our roads.

Dear Editor, Caribbean countries have united in many institutions established for the well-being of the region.
