Based on ample international evidence, I do not share Ralph Ramkarran’s bleak pessimism in his recent article in Conversation Tree, titled “Biometrics are not permitted by the constitution or any other law”, where he lamented that election losers in Guyana (in his narrative, the PNCR alone) will engage in “an unending political dance over the electoral system based on nothing more than political calculations and posturing.”

As we all eagerly await the State visit of the Honourable Shri Narendra Modiji distinguished Prime Minister of Bharat (India) I would like to reflect on some of his most notable achievements as mentioned in “A Political Biography of Narendra Modi” by Andy Marino published in 2014, a British author with a PhD in English Literature.
The sense one gets from President Irfaan Ali’s recent 5:30 am meeting with Ministers and some senior Public Servants is that he seeking to send a message that there are mechanisms within aspects of the government’s machinery that are, at the least, creaking at the hinges, and that he is seeking to send a boisterous message to those state functionaries of his unhappiness with the performances of some key institutions of government and that he is seeking significant changes in the modus operandi of those aspects of the operational side of the governance process.
